On 22–23 January, the Annual Joint Conference 2025 in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Genomics will take place in the auditorium of the University of Tartu Omicum building (Riia 23b/2–105).
The conference will focus on the most important research work done in both institutes over the past year, as well as the theses of doctoral students and active researchers. On both days of the event, summaries of recent research and discoveries in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology, and genomics will be presented.
Doctoral students will give oral or poster presentations about their research topic, which is followed by scientific discussion and feedback. In between are longer presentations by experts in their respective fields, invited from other universities, government agencies, the private sector and also from various institutes at the University of Tartu.
Associate Professor Hanna Hõrak (University of Tartu Institute of Technology)
Professor Kaspar Valgepea (University of Tartu Institute of Bioengineering)
Specialist Helerin Eiche (State Agency of Medicines)
Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer Meelis Kadaja (Nanordica Medical)
Associate Professor Ott Scheler (TalTech Division of Gene Technology and Biomedicine)
Post-doc Antti Matvere (University of Rennes)
The primary language of the conference will be English. All of the presentations are aimed to promote the exchange of experiences and cooperation between doctoral students and their supervisors, as well as master's students and guest speakers. The conference starts with a short introduction of the past year by the directors of the institutes, Maia Kivisaar (IMCB) and Mait Metspalu (IG).
N.B. This is a public event: photos will be taken and may be used to promote future events. Attendees who do not wish to be photographed are kindly requested to sit in the last row of the hall. During the poster session and coffee break, please do not stay in the atrium area in this case.
