The Annual Conference of the Institute of Genomics and the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology

The Annual Conference of the Institute of Genomics and the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of Tartu will take place from January 18 to 19, 2021.

The tradition of the annual scientific conference between the institutes and their predecessors is long reaching 30 years. The aim of the conference is to summarize the reasearch of the last year. In light of the coronavirus the conference has been shifted online.

The conference is a good possibility for doctoral students to present their work but but the program also includes presentations from research fellows. Both conference days encompass 15-minutes oral presentations by doctoral students and researchers selected by the jury. As a novel solution it is possible to follow two minutes talks by scientists to present their posters.

There are also interesting guest speakers in the programme. On Monday at 2 PM Dr Kaili Rimfeld from King’s College London will present the topic of individual differences in academic achievement combining behavioural genetic and statistical genetic methods. On Tuesday at 9:30 AM neuroscientist  Dr Allan-Herman Pool from California Institute of Technology will give an overview how our brain mediates biological motivations or urges.

The official language of the conference is English.
