Internship outside home university is an obligatory part of the Masters' Programme.
Internship place can be found by the student but the institute is willing to help as well having an overview of the internship possibilities.
There are two courses of traineeship in the curricula:
"Enterprise Practice“ with code LOMR.00.079 (6 credit points)
"Enterprise Practice II“ with code LTMR.00.024 (6 credit points)

Is it worth to have practice outside the university?
If this is the question in front of you, the answer is - yes, it is worth of it!
Internship outside the university gives and excellent and free opportunity to have an overview of the situation in the labor market. You will learn a lot about yourself, experience new things, learn new skills, you can put theory learned in the university into practice in real-life situation.
Internship is an extra obligation demanding time and concentration. That is why you need to think it through and find the best time to consolidate practice with the rest of the studies. A good time for internship programme is summer.
Where to find an internship place and how I can choose between the places?
There are several options - enterprises, state agencies, scientific laboratories, science parks, clinics etc. The active places are concentrated to our Practice Web (Praktikaveeb), you can always ask advice from the institute. Visit the websites of the companies and try to find out possible interesting places or topics. If you have a very certain interest, do not hesitate to talk about it in the institute - together we may find the best suitable solution for you.
What do I gain from internship?
You will gain a real working experience in an agency or company in the filed of your studies. Entering the labor market you will have the possibility to mark this experience in you CV. In addition to interesting contacts and work you might get a work offer or you may be added to the personnel database of the company.
Is internship only laboratory-based experience?
Not at all. Try to find out what may interest you. Internship can be performed in the marketing or communication unit of the company. Maybe you are interested in working together with clinicians or your interest is in the food or agricultural sector? Internship can also be project-based course or something you do together with another student (bigger project). Please consult with us (Additional information, contacts) in the institute.
