Viljar Jaks received the national research award

Viljar Jaks, Associate Professor in Cell Biology, received the national research award in chemistry and molecular biology for his works on the topic "Tissue regeneration and the extracellular matrix".

The Estonian government confirmed this year's state research award laureates. Outstanding studies published in the past four years received €20,000 annual prizes. This year's state research award in the field of chemistry and molecular biology was divided between the works of two scientists - Viljar Jaks and Peep Palumaa.

The research award was received on February 21st at the Estonian Academy of Sciences.
